The album Fusions brings together works by Nikolai Kapustin and George Gershwin, composers who each, in their own way, bridged the worlds of classical form and jazz idiom. The program highlights rhythmic vitality, improvisatory spirit, and virtuosity, offering the audience a fresh and dynamic concert experience.
At the heart of the program stands Kapustin’s Piano Sonata No. 2, Op. 54, a brilliant and energetic work combining classical structure with jazz harmonies and grooves. It is complemented by Gershwin’s iconic Three Preludes, which capture the essence of American jazz with elegance and character.
The concert also features selected pieces from Kapustin’s Eight Concert Etudes, Op. 40, each demonstrating exceptional pianistic brilliance and stylistic diversity.
